City Watch API · For booking software

Bring researched short-term rental rules into your software.

Over 850 researched U.S. markets, and growing. Every rated market comes with a plain-language summary and the primary source it cites, ready to show inside the tools your hosts already use.

We'll get back to you about API access and send a secure sign-in link.

What you get for each market

A plain-language summary

For every rated market, ASTRO's own summary of the local short-term rental rules, written so a host can read it in a minute.

The cited primary source

For every rated market, a direct link to the ordinance, statute, or official page the summary rests on, so anyone can read the rule itself.

The current rating status

Every market returns its status: rated, being researched, or paused while a rating is reviewed. A rating sits on City Watch's restrictive-to-unrestricted scale and traces to confirmed, cited rules.

Every response includes ASTRO’s attribution and standard notes, ready to display alongside the summary.

Example response, abridged.

How it works

  1. Request accessStart with your work email on this page.
  2. Receive a one-time enrollment tokenASTRO issues a single-use enrollment token for your team.
  3. Generate your own key and pull market dataRedeem the token once to create your key; ASTRO never holds a usable copy. Then pull market data as your hosts need it.

Why it belongs in your product

Hosts set up their listings in your software, so that is where the local rules matter. Put the summary and its source in front of them at the moment they are making decisions about a property.

Your team can review every cited source before anything ships, and owners and your tools start from the same facts.

Request API access

Give your hosts researched local rules, with the source one click away.
