How ASTRO works economically

Two economic rails

Exchange rail → Travelcoin (internal, non-cash)
Program rail  → Cash (direct payment)

• No mixing between rails for the same economic object
• No purchase or redemption of Travelcoin for cash
• No hidden monetization; disclosed fees only

Travelcoin is not purchasable, not cash, and represents value contributed through hosting on the Owners Exchange (per stay settlement rules).

Access before membership

ASTRO can be explored and configured before full network participation (verification + valid payment method on file per membership policy). This is not a membership tier—it is a pre-verification / pre-participation state.

Restrictions

• No Owners Exchange participation
• No Travelcoin earning or spending on the exchange rail

• No full network participation privileges (trust gates apply)

Purpose: reduce onboarding friction, let owners see value before committing, and preserve verification-before-privilege.

Membership

Membership is the entry point to full participation in the ASTRO Network.

USD 0 — no upfront annual membership fee. A valid payment method on file at join (for example, a card) is required; there is no anonymous full-network participation.

• Owners Exchange eligibility (gates not waived by payment)
• Program rail participation eligibility

Identity + payment instrument replaces an upfront membership fee. Full Owners Exchange participation and program payouts require verification and an instrument on file per product terms. No per-property membership surcharge in v1.

What powers the network: trust and verification, infrastructure, registry and identity, and Owners Exchange coordination—not a listing fee or pay-to-rank.

Property activation kits (optional)

Branded physical QR artifacts are separate from membership: they help deploy the secure guest layer at the property. Kits are priced at cost + shipping (plus any small disclosed handling fee)—not a hidden margin on stays.

Sensitive guest information (for example Wi‑Fi and entry details) is intended to live only on the secure path /qr/… when that surface is enabled—not on public registry or non-sensitive guest utility pages. Printed codes may use URL fragments (such as #explore-nearby) for section navigation; access is still controlled by the server and the unguessable token.

Owners Exchange (Travelcoin rail)

Hosting: no ASTRO cash fee on the host for the stay itself. 100% of the Travelcoin settlement amount for the stay flows per ledger contract (no ASTRO skim on the Travelcoin credit leg).

Guest fee (cash, exchange rail): USD 15 per confirmed stay—flat. Not percentage-based. Not tied to property or nightly Travelcoin value. Charged once per confirmed stay.

Pass-through: cleaning, damage, extras (often direct payment or off-platform), and taxes (jurisdictional) sit outside Travelcoin settlement unless a future product explicitly amends policy.

Cancellation: pre-confirmation—no guest platform fee collected (or voided/refunded per implementation). Post-confirmation—platform fee retained per policy where permitted; Travelcoin leg reversed via ledger mechanics (no retroactive edit of confirmation snapshot).

ASTRO does not take an OTA-style booking commission on stay value, a percentage of stay value in cash, or a percentage of Travelcoin issuance or settlement.

Programs (cash rail)

Programs settle on the direct payment rail. ASTRO does not take vendor base pricing outside the disclosed program structure.

Honor Pantry

9% markup on owner-defined base price. Owner receives base; ASTRO receives the markup portion per program payments rules.

Concierge (experiences)

Vendor-defined pricing plus a referral pool (portion of guest gross). Minimum partner referral pool: ≥ 10% of guest gross (partner terms). When a 30% referral pool applies, a typical v1 target is 21% of guest gross to owner referral and 9% of guest gross to ASTRO platform—the ratio within the pool is preserved if the pool differs. Pool percentage varies by partner; ASTRO does not take an undisclosed tax on vendor contracted net.

Home Showcase

ASTRO earns 9% of the markup layer (increment above owner/vendor-defined base). Minimum markup 10% above base for ASTRO routing eligibility.

Services (photography, marketing, etc.)

Fixed pricing or referral-based per program rules; ASTRO earns a disclosed coordination or referral fee, with no extraction from agreed vendor base without contract.

AArtners (art program)

Locked v1 guest price stack:

guest_price = artist_fee + (artist_fee × 0.30) + production_shipping

The 30% term is a commission envelope on artist_fee—not a shorthand for how ASTRO’s share is calculated in isolation.

Of net distributable after production and shipping:

70% → Artist
21% → Owner referral / placement
9%  → ASTRO

Artist fee is protected as the artist compensation baseline. Travelcoin-based art participation, if used, is a separate path; rail separation is preserved.

What ASTRO never charges for

• No listing fees (membership is participation, not pay-to-list)
• No ranking or discovery placement fees
• No booking commission on exchange stay value
• No percentage of Travelcoin settlement to ASTRO
• No purchase of Travelcoin

Program revenue does not determine exchange discovery order.

How ASTRO earns (summary)

ASTRO earns only from disclosed areas:

• Exchange guest fee — USD 15 per confirmed stay (flat cash)
• Program participation — Honor Pantry markup; Concierge referral share; Home Showcase markup share; services coordination
• AArtners — ASTRO’s share is 9% of net distributable after production/shipping in the 70 / 21 / 9 model, not a second hidden rake on artist fee
• Activation kits — cost recovery only (materials + shipping), not a rake on stay value

ASTRO does not earn from property resale or “value of the asset” as an OTA rake, from the nightly Travelcoin anchor as a cash percentage to ASTRO, or from Travelcoin issuance as a purchasable product.

ASTRO is free to explore. You join when you're ready—with a card on file and verification. You keep what's already yours — and pay only disclosed fees when you use the exchange and programs.

Under the hood: ASTRO monetizes participation and disclosed program-layer value—not ownership of the underlying asset or OTA-style commission on exchange stay value.
