The Mills County Historical Museum is located in the Palmer Building, which was erected in 1893 with a second story added in 1906. The museum displays family heirlooms, an old farm wagon, pianos, and 100-year-old quilts. Visitors can view exhibits on early communications, a post office, a bank, a dentist office, and a country store. Also featured are a painted mural of the first courthouse with the first registered car, and a mural of San Saba Peak and local ranchers.
