About Howland Stone Store Museum
The Howland Stone Store Museum consists of the 1837 Slocum Howland Cobblestone Store and Opendore, the 1910 Isabel Howland estate, both on the National Register of Historic Places. It tells the story of the Sherwood Equal Rights Historic District, a center for reform where the Howlands pursued abolition, women's suffrage, and education. The museum features nationally significant women's suffrage campaign materials and the Gutchess women’s history archive.
