About Sugar Point Battle
Sugar Point was the site of a significant October 1898 engagement between the Pillager Band of Chippewa Indians and the United States Army on Leech Lake in Minnesota. Often called the last Indian Uprising in the United States, this battle marked a pivotal conflict in American history.
