About Munising Coast Guard Station Boathouse
The Munising Coast Guard Station Boathouse, located on Sand Point in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, displays a historic 36 foot Motor Lifeboat. This self-bailing, self-righting vessel was designed for saving lives. Visitors can also see the station equipment cart, which includes a Lyle Gun, a breeches buoy, and other rescue gear, along with a winch used to launch lifeboats on tracks.
