About Leffingwell House Museum
The Leffingwell House Museum, built circa 1675, showcases New England Colonial architecture and its development in Connecticut. It evolved from a two-room home to a pre-Revolutionary Tavern and later the elegant townhouse of Christopher Leffingwell. Displays of artifacts from 1659 through the Civil War evoke early American lifestyles. The Joseph Carpenter Silversmith Shop, built in 1772, features original walls, a forge, and displays on Norwichtown businesses and craftsmen.
