About Donner Memorial State Park Museum
Donner Memorial State Park Museum, opened in 2015, explores Truckee's history. It features artifacts and stories of the Emigrant Experience, including the Donner Party, the Land of the Washoe, Chinese railroad construction, and early motoring adventures over Donner Pass. The facility includes a Multipurpose Theater with audiovisual systems and an information center with interactive kiosks. Outside, a self-guided tour passes the Murphy family cabin site and a paved path leads to the Pioneer Memorial.
