SMS & Voice Messaging — Opt-In & Consent

How members opt in to ASTRO account messaging, what we send, and how to opt out. ASTRO sends account messages and verification codes only — transactional messages tied to your membership. We never send marketing or promotional texts or calls.

How you opt in

You provide a phone number when you join ASTRO. On the program signup form, a phone number is required, and the consent disclosure is shown directly beneath the field. Submitting the form with your number — with that disclosure visible — is your opt-in to receive account messages and verification codes by text and/or automated voice call. ASTRO does not buy, rent, or import phone numbers; every number is provided by the member it belongs to.

What we send

Messages are transactional only — limited to your membership and account:

  • verification codes when you sign in or confirm an action
  • account and membership notices
  • support replies related to a request you started

Messages may arrive by text (SMS) and/or automated voice call. We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages, and we do not share your number with advertisers.

How to opt out

  • Texts (SMS): reply STOP to any ASTRO text to stop texts. Reply HELP for help.
  • Automated voice calls: contact us to opt out of automated voice calls.

Opting out of messaging stops account texts and/or calls. Verification still works by email, and you can still reach support directly. To reach us about messaging or opt-out, email prudence@theastro.org.
