It evolved from a two-room home to a pre-Revolutionary Tavern and later the elegant townhouse of Christopher Leffingwell. Displays of artifacts from 1659 through the Civil War evoke early American lifestyles. The Joseph Carpenter Silversmith Shop, built in 1772, features original walls, a forge, and displays on Norwichtown businesses and craftsmen.
