About Marble House
Marble House is a National Historic Landmark in Newport, RI, built in 1892 by William Vanderbilt for his wife, Alva. This architectural landmark helped transform Newport into a resort of opulent Gilded Age mansions. Visitors can explore the Gilded Age through engaging audio tours, learning about figures such as Consuelo Vanderbilt. The mansion was designed by architect Richard Morris Hunt.
