About Whitehall Museum House
Whitehall Museum House is the historic home of Bishop George Berkeley, who resided there from 1729-1731. Berkeley enlarged the original dwelling into a country manor house in 1729, incorporating Palladian style with prominent double front doors, a detail rare in early American vernacular buildings. Maintained by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in Rhode Island since 1899, the museum house is open to the public for tours given by scholars in residence.
