About Merchants' Exchange Building
The Merchants' Exchange Building houses a public exhibit on its history and preservation. Designed by William Strickland and completed in 1834, it served as Philadelphia's financial center, hosting a post office, the city's stock exchange, and the Philadelphia Board of Trade throughout the 1800s. Today, the building serves as the park's headquarters. The lobby exhibit is wheelchair accessible.
