About National Museum of the American Coverlet
The National Museum of the American Coverlet is the first independent, year-round institution dedicated to historic American woven coverlets. Opened in May 2006 within Bedford, Pennsylvania’s historic 1859 former Common School building, the museum features changing exhibitions of 80 to 100 coverlets. Visitors can also see early spinning wheels and barn frame looms, and staff are available to answer questions and provide background information.
