About Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum
The Cherokee National Supreme Court Museum, built in 1844, housed the Cherokee National Supreme Court. As Oklahoma's oldest government building, it also hosted the original printing press for the Cherokee Advocate, the state's first newspaper. Visitors can explore three exhibit areas detailing the Cherokee National Judicial System, the Cherokee Advocate and Phoenix newspapers, and the Cherokee language. The museum features historical items such as photos, stories, objects, and furniture.
