The Maritime Museum of Sandusky explores the rich maritime history of the Sandusky Bay area, covering topics such as passenger boats, commercial fishing, ice harvesting on Lake Erie, boat-building, Ohio’s wetlands, shipwrecks, and Sandusky’s role in the Underground Railroad. The campus features the Howman Boathouse and Motor & Engine Room. Here, guests can board Lyman boats, view other vessels, and observe the boat building school and restoration workshop.
