About Schuyler-Colfax House Historic House Museum
The Schuyler-Colfax House is a historic house museum in Wayne dating to 1695 when Arent Schuyler built a fieldstone home overlooking the Ramapo River. The home expanded over centuries and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The museum preserves the history of the Schuyler and Colfax families and their role in local and national history.
