About Dawes County Historical Museum
Dawes County Historical Museum, established in 1935, is located three miles south of Chadron, Nebraska. It preserves history with tens of thousands of artifacts dating back to the early 1800s. Visitors can explore publications, documents, household goods, farm and ranch items, military memorabilia, and toys. The museum also functions as a Genealogical Bank of information and hosts an annual History In Action Day.
