About Runestone Museum
The Runestone Museum, located in downtown Alexandria, Minnesota, opened in 1958. It originally featured the World Famous and controversial Kensington Rune Stone as its sole artifact. Visitors can explore indoor exhibits year-round, with access to nine outdoor historic buildings available during the summer months.
