About USCGC Taney
The USCGC Taney, commissioned in 1936, is a former U.S. Coast Guard Cutter and a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can explore the ship from the deck to the bridge, and below decks to the berthing areas, mess deck, and wardroom. Exhibits include a new collection of artifacts and an interactive experience following Soogie, the ship’s World War II mascot dog. The museum also features a restored ship’s lathe and participates in educational and overnight programs.
