Shelbyville History Museum in Shelby County, KY The Shelby County Historical Society collects, preserves and promotes knowledge and appreciation of Shelby County and Kentucky history.  The historical society was founded in 1963 as the Shelby County Historical and Genealogy Society.  The society operates the Shelby County History museum which is housed in the 1872 Italianate Presbyterian Manse building at 627 Main Street in downtown Shelbyville, KY. The museum is open Wednesday-Friday from 10AM-4PM and on Saturday from 10AM-2PM. Admission is free, donations are always welcome.  Exhibits now showing - Shelby County Tobacco exhibit located on the second floor of the museum.  The award-winning Crabtree Saddlebred Farm display is on the first floor.  You can also f
