About Gernon House
Gernon House in Russell, Kansas, is the oldest stone house remaining in the city. Its earliest portions were built in 1872 by Nicholas Gernon, an original town settler. The Russell County Historical Society fully restored the house to the 1890s, featuring period items used by local families during the late 1800s. Visitors can see restored upstairs bedrooms, and a docent can highlight significant artifacts.
