About La Salle County Historical Museum
The La Salle County Historical Museum complex is located in Utica, Illinois, on the banks of the Illinois & Michigan Canal. It features a two-story stone museum built in 1848, which originally served as a general store. The complex includes an 1865 one-room school, an 1874 post-beam barn, and an 1896 working blacksmith shop, offering a unique impression of late 19th-century pioneer life. The Museum Library is a certified research facility.
