About Elijah Iles House
The Elijah Iles House, built around 1837 by one of Springfield's four founders, survives as the city's oldest residential structure. The Greek Revival cottage features timber framing, interior black walnut woodwork, and three levels with original furnishings. The main floor houses exhibits, while the lower level contains a museum of Springfield history.
