About Dowling House
Dowling House is Galena's oldest house, built of limestone in 1826 by John Dowling. It once served as the city's only trading post, featuring primitive living quarters that hosted many fur traders. Visitors can take guided tours to learn the history of both the house and Galena, while browsing quaint artifacts from the early nineteenth century.
