About John Young Museum of Art
The John Young Museum of Art is part of the gallery system of the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. It opened in 1999, fulfilling artist John Young's vision to further art education and benefit the community. The museum houses a collection of artworks from Asia, Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, Africa, and Mesoamerica. Its 2,000+ square foot complex includes galleries, workshops, a small research library, and an outdoor courtyard, hosting art history exhibitions and student programming.
