About Middlesex County Historical Society
Founded in 1901, the Middlesex County Historical Society is headquartered in the General Mansfield House, a Federal brick mansion once home to Civil War general Joseph K.F. Mansfield. The museum preserves the history of Middletown and Middlesex County through major exhibits featuring artifacts from its permanent collection, including pieces exploring the region's industrial heritage, immigrant communities, and local social history.
