An idea constituted in 1964 from the efforts of dedicated golf enthusiasts in the Yampa Valley, The Steamboat Golf Club has remained a treasure to the community it has served since. While there is little obstacle by way of length with only one par 4 measuring just over 400 yards, the course is best defended by lush rough, a meandering creek, small and confounding greens, and groves of mature cottonwoods that stand ready to swat down the wayward shot. The course is one of the most enjoyable walking courses one can find in the Rockies. A 9 hole round at Steamboat Golf Club can usually be completed within 2 hours.
