The Courthouse Museum is located in a restored building that served as the Shasta County Courthouse in the late 1800s. It now houses a visitor center, information desk, and interactive exhibits depicting the history of Shasta, “Queen City of the Northern Mines.” Visitors can explore the restored 1860s courtroom, jail, and gallows, furnished with original items to interpret gold rush era justice. The museum also features spectacular art galleries displaying 100 years of California Art.
