The U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum is designated as Alabama's Official State Veterans Memorial Museum. It houses the Ford Pygmy GP-No. 1, the oldest known surviving utility Jeep prototype in the world. This virtually unrestored survivor was delivered to the U.S. Army in 1940 for tactical testing and is listed on the National Historic Vehicle Register.
