About Ginkgo Petrified Forest Museum
The Ginkgo Petrified Forest Interpretive Center overlooks the Columbia River from a cliff face carved by Ice Age floods. Displays and videos explain the 15-million-year-old petrified forest and the geological forces that shaped the landscape. Visitors can touch petrified wood, view the scenic river, and explore a 1.25-mile interpretive trail through an ancient fossil bed with dozens of exposed petrified logs.
