About Wild Horse Renewable Energy Center
The Wild Horse Renewable Energy Center is located 16 miles east of Ellensburg, Washington. It offers visitors an up-close look at 148 wind turbines and a solar array, which generate electricity from wind and sun. Guests can explore educational displays about wind and solar technology and the area's natural history. Outdoor trails lead to a solar array, blade, turbine generator, and gearbox, with views of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, Mount Hood, and the Columbia River Basin.
