About Highland County Museum
The Highland County Museum is located in McDowell, Virginia, within the historic Mansion House. Built in 1851, the Mansion House served as a hospital during the Battle of McDowell in 1862 and now hosts the McDowell Battlefield Orientation Center. The museum features exhibits that portray Highland's past using collected items and local loans.
