About The Stone Fort Museum
The Stone Fort Museum celebrates early East Texas history, exploring the natural and cultural history of the region. A legacy of Nacogdoches’ Spanish history, the museum is housed in a 1936 reconstruction of Antonio Gil Y’Barbo’s eighteenth century stone house. Visitors can see exhibits such as El Camino Real de los Tejas and Nacogdoches: History in Every Direction, and Fabricating Fashion, which displays a late 1800s four-harness counterbalance loom.
