El Dorado Golf Course, once a private club, hosted the PGA Tour’s Houston Open in 1973-1974 and is regularly one of Texas's highest rated public courses. Architect Jeff Blume revamped the course in 2008, raising greens complexes and redoing bunkers. Today, it features water on several holes, strategic bunkering, and larger undulating greens, with a variety of par-3s and risk-reward par 5s.
