About Rienzi
Rienzi is the MFAH house museum for European decorative arts, located on four acres of wooded gardens in Houston's River Oaks neighborhood. Designed by John Staub in 1952, it was formerly the home of philanthropists Carroll Sterling Masterson and Harris Masterson III, opening in 1999. The museum houses a substantial collection of European decorative arts, paintings, furnishings, porcelain, and miniatures. Visitors can take guided or self-guided tours, attend family programs, lectures, music performances, and special events.
