About Fort Croghan Museum
Fort Croghan Museum shares the history of Burnet County, allowing visitors to experience Frontier Texas circa 1850. The site was originally an army fort, established in March 1849 and operating until December 1853. It was garrisoned by the 2nd Dragoons and marked the beginning of settlement in the area.
