About Asa Packer Mansion
The Asa Packer Mansion Museum in Jim Thorpe, PA, was the 1861 home of philanthropist and Lehigh University founder Asa Packer. This three-story, 18-room mansion, built by Samuel Sloan, features a red-ribbed tin roof and a central cupola. Asa Packer's daughter willed the home and its contents as a memorial, and it has been open to the public since 1956 as a National Historic Landmark.
