About Independence Heritage Museum
The Independence Heritage Museum preserves and shares the stories of its community, from the Kalapuya people and Oregon Trail settlers to hop farming and military service. Visitors can explore engaging, hands-on exhibits highlighting the Willamette River, Native inhabitants, and hop farming. A centerpiece exhibit is a pioneer-era wagon refurbished for the 1959 “On to Oregon” Cavalcade reenactment. The museum also offers an interactive online tour, digital collections, and a Ghost Walk.
