About Chickasaw Council House Museum
The Chickasaw Council House Museum, located on the Chickasaw Capitol grounds in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, preserves and displays the original 1855 log cabin. This cabin was the first Chickasaw council house in Indian Territory and where the 1856 Chickasaw Constitution was signed. The museum also features artifacts tracing Chickasaw history and culture, contemporary Chickasaw artwork, and offers group tours. A gift shop provides souvenirs and artwork by Chickasaw artists.
