About Allen County Museum
The Allen County Museum and Historical Society has preserved and promoted the area's cultural heritage since 1908. It collects, preserves, and shares collections related to Allen County's history, including the Solar Refinery, Lima Locomotive Works, John Dillinger’s jailbreak, and the Great Black Swamp. Visitors can see exhibitions, such as the Threads of Conflict: Echoes of the Civil War exhibit, and explore the MacDonell House and Children’s Discovery Center.
