About Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse
The Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse was founded in 1945 by the Fairport Harbor Historical Society. The museum, located in the former keeper’s dwelling, houses artifacts pertaining to Great Lakes life and other maritime exhibits. Visitors can tour the 1871 lighthouse tower, which stands sixty feet high and features a 69-step spiral staircase to an observation platform. Attached to the museum is the former pilothouse from the Great Lakes carrier “Frontenac.”
