About Burden Iron Works Museum
The Burden Iron Works Museum is housed in the former Burden Iron Co. office building in South Troy, a structure built 1881-1882 that once served as headquarters for a major iron mill complex. The museum features extensive displays of artifacts connected with the region’s industrial past, including a ladle car and a Corliss steam engine. Exhibits cover topics such as iron, bells, cast iron stoves, precision instruments, the USS Monitor, textiles, and rototillers.
