About Niagara County Historical Society Museum
The Niagara History Center preserves and interprets the cultural heritage of Niagara County and the Erie Canal across two main locations and seven buildings of exhibits. Its five-building complex in Lockport interprets Niagara Frontier history from Native American occupation to the early 20th century. Exhibits cover the Civil War, Native Americans, pioneers, transportation, and local industry. Visitors can also explore the 1824 Col. William Bond-Jesse Hawley House, Lockport's first brick home, furnished with period pieces.
