About NC Transportation Museum
The NC Transportation Museum is a historic site and museum highlighting North Carolina’s transportation history, including railroading, automotive, and aviation. Located at the former Southern Railway Spencer Shops, a 60-acre site, visitors can enjoy seasonal train rides and hands-on exhibits. Historic structures include the 1898 Barber Junction Depot, the Bob Julian Roundhouse housing locomotives and a Wright Flyer replica, and the Back Shop with rail cars and antique automobiles. The Flue Shop features the Bumper to Bumper automotive exhibit.
