About Mound Bayou Museum of African American Culture and History
The Mound Bayou Museum of African American Culture and History preserves and shares the story of a Black community whose leadership and cultural life shaped Mississippi history. Visitors can explore exhibits focused on Mound Bayou’s development, its history, and connections to Emmett Till. The museum is the first Exposeum, a concept created to uncover hidden Black history. It is currently operating from the former library of John F. Kennedy Memorial High School.
