About Plank Museum & Visitor Center
The Plank Museum & Visitor Center is the starting point for Historic Fort Snelling visits. Visitors can purchase admission, view displays, and shop for souvenirs, gifts, snacks, and cold drinks. The building, originally 1904 US Army Cavalry barracks, was rehabilitated as part of the Historic Fort Snelling Revitalization Project, which Raymond Plank significantly funded. Exhibits on the first and second floors highlight the fort's history, and the center provides accessible restrooms and free WiFi.
