The Lightkeeper’s House, built in 1908 by the Life Saving Service, served as the lightkeeper’s home and later housed Coast Guard families until 1982. The Grand Marais Historical Society received the brick house in 1984 and began its restoration. Today, the museum contains items from the turn of the century, offering visitors a step back in time.
