About Empire Area Museum
The Empire Area Museum features two large floors of exhibits and a small store. Visitors can also explore three auxiliary buildings: the Schoolhouse, a one-room structure that was once a church, and the Fire-Hose House, which displays hand-pulled fire equipment from 1898 to 1949. The Billy Beeman Barn houses large exhibits, including a 1956 Sleeping Bear Dunesmobile, horse-drawn vehicles, and a butcher block table from Empire's old Deering Market.
