About Nylander Museum
The Nylander Museum of Natural History was founded in 1939 to house various artifacts collected by its namesake, Olaf O. Nylander. Mr. Nylander, a self-taught naturalist, served as the museum's curator until his death in 1943. Today, a life-size wax statue of Mr. Nylander presides over the south gallery.
